Diana Downing


Diana Downing directs strategy and operations. With over 20 years working in senior executive banking positions, Diana understands the business drivers of financial institutions and corporations today.

Diana has held diverse positions at a number of international banks including Merrill Lynch, ABN Amro and J.P. Morgan where she spearheaded the company’s international market expansion.

Diana created and architected Lacuna ClientScope™ to provide financial institutions and corporations the means to manage the increasingly complex business, risk and regulatory relationship that they have with their clients: In turn helping them improve the quality of their strategic decision making and planning across markets, clients and products.


Peter Burbank

Chief Risk Officer

Peter Burbank brings over 25 years of banking experience in European and emerging market credit for banks and corporates. He has served in various senior roles including overseeing rating agency coverage at credit rating agencies DBRS and Moody’s, risk management and credit trading at Lloyds, sell side research at Merrill Lynch, fund management at Pictet, and deal due diligence at J.P. Morgan.

Peter provides Lacuna’s clients with independent oversight and guidance for managing risk and ensuring compliance, including the development and implementation of risk management. Peter also feeds his experience directly into Lacuna’s product engineering team, ensuring that Lacuna ClientScope™ is always ahead of the curve.

Peter speaks multiple languages, having travelled the world extensively throughout his education and career.


Bill Mendenhall

Chief Advisory Officer

Bill Mendenhall has over 25 years of experience working in credit and advisory roles, and created one of the earliest and most successful credit advisory teams in the City. Before joining Lacuna, Bill held senior positions at Moody’s and Merrill Lynch. Bill also delivered workshops in sovereign and bank credit risk to market participants and regulators across the EMEA region.

Bill has worked in the USA, UK and Europe. He speaks a number of languages. At Lacuna he oversees client relationships, ensuring that Lacuna continues to build its solutions from a client perspective. Working in partnership with leading financial institutions, learning about their issues and gaining their feedback, Bill has spearheaded the development of a number of ClientScope™ modules while leading the company’s ethos of continuous product improvement.


Richard Brown

Chief Financial Officer

Richard Brown is responsible for the company’s overall legal and financial management, including the company’s financial reporting and long-range business planning, investor relations, intellectual property, real estate, legal contracts and international entity management.

Richard has 24 years of experience in banking, having held senior investment banking roles at Santander, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch. He was a founding partner of Santander Innoventures, Santander’s global FinTech corporate venture capital fund. In this role he worked as an activist within the bank to help drive innovation and embed alternative solutions to investment and funding. Richard is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, and trained at Price Waterhouse from 1987 to 1993 in accounting and tax.


Andy Edwards

Chief technology officer

Andy Edwards is responsible for the underlying architecture of Lacuna ClientScope™, its scalability, resilience, security and service availability.

Prior to joining Lacuna, Andy held diverse senior CIO and CTO management positions in software companies providing trading systems solutions, including Patsystems, Velsys, London Capital Group and Web Financial Group. He has led cross-industry initiatives for the adoption of technology standards and co-founded Bolero.net, the first service to enable the trading of goods and commodities through electronic bills of lading.

Andy works with all business teams within Lacuna to ensure that Lacuna’s technology architecture is not only best in class, but also serves the needs of tomorrow.
